Kentucky football players have been recognized for their all-around talents by winning national awards for performance on the field, in the classroom and in service.

ON THE FIELD, UK has had 24 first-team All-America players, selected a total of 28 times, plus numerous second- and third-team All-Americans. Over the years, the Wildcats have earned 100 first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors.

In addition, UK players have won numerous special national awards. Just in the last few years, the Wildcats have won or been named to:

  • College Football Hall of Fame
  •  Bobby Bowden Award as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes
  • National Player of the Year
  • National Linebacker of the Year by the College Football Performance Awards
  • Rudy Award as the most inspirational player of the year in college football

UK football players also have excelled in the classroom and in community service.  In recent years:

  • UK players earned first-team Academic All-America four straight years
  • UK led the nation in Academic All-Americans two years
  • UK had a prestigious National Scholar-Athlete awarded an $18,000 scholarship by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame
  • UK has had 11 players chosen for the National Good Works Team, ranking third in college history for the most players chosen
